Nancy O'Dell started her career in the broadcast industry as an anchor at WPDE-TV, Myrtle Beach South Carolina. Then, she joined WCBD as an anchor in the morning and a crime reporter. The journalist's report on the lack of responses of police officers towards DUI incidents in Charleston caused an investigation conducted by the State Law Enforcement Division, which led to a change in policy from state officials regarding DUI cases. The Associated Press honored Ms. O'Dell with the Best Report of the Years Award across all South Carolina Media. Her work in Charleston was the reason she joined as co-anchor and investigative reporter and NBC's Miami WTVJ-TV. Before becoming a part of Access Hollywood she was a weekday co-anchor as well as NBC's weekend co-anchor. O'Dell's current role as host for Access Hollywood is complemented by the work she has done for NBC News Today, Dateline NBC, and NBC News. She's been a reporter for The Oscars The Emmys The Grammys The Golden Globe Awards and co-hosted several Pre-ShowArrivals Shows in preparation for The Emmys And The Golden Globes. Her other co-hosting credits include the Miss USA pageant, and Miss Universe.
